West Ham targets Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay are likely to cost £30million each this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

David Moyes has identified the Man United duo as his top transfer targets but is facing pushback from director of football Tim Steidten.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (5 August) that Steidten is keen to move for younger players with more room to grow and the potential to provide resale value to West Ham in coming years.

Erik ten Hag is open to giving both McTominay and Maguire a first-team role this season after their limited involvement in the 2022-23 campaign.

However, it is believed both stars could push for an Old Trafford exit if the right opportunity arises in the final month of the window.

McTominay and Maguire will be keen to play regular first-team football ahead of next year’s European Championships.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that West Ham will likely have to pay a combined fee of £60million to land both stars this summer.

McTominay played 39 times across all competitions for Man United last season – but started in just 16 of those outings.

The Scotland international is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2025.

Meanwhile, Maguire has been stripped of the captaincy by Ten Hag after falling out of favour with the Dutchman last term.

The England star made just 16 starts amid 31 appearances across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign.

Moyes’ side have already seen a bid rejected for Maguire, while Football Insider revealed on Sunday (6 August) that Everton have discussed signing the defender on loan.

West Ham are yet to make a summer signing despite selling captain Declan Rice to Arsenal for a British-record fee.

They start the 2023-24 campaign against Bournemouth on 12 August.
